
Maureen Taylor specializes in complex commercial litigation, UCC litigation, product liability defense, and automotive safety and regulatory matters. She has experience in defending catastrophic product liability and tort litigation matters. Ms. Taylor has also advised professional service firms and educational institutions regarding security breaches involving sensitive personal identifying information. She is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law (J.D., 1997).
Before joining Brooks Wilkins Sharkey & Turco, she was a shareholder at Butzel Long and an associate at Jones, Day, Reavis & Pogue.
- Obtained numerous injunctions in state and federal courts on behalf of Tiered suppliers involving various automotive components
- Obtained summary judgment on behalf of defendant designer of brake controller in product liability action
- Successfully argued and obtained affirmance of district court dismissal of 4th and 14th Amendment violation claims before the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals in Cleary v. County of Macomb, et al. , Case No. 09-1441 (6th Cir. Feb. 2, 2011)
- Obtained Summary Judgment, Default Judgment and Sanctions against Defendant for fraud and electronic discovery abuses in one of the first decisions by any Federal Court after the enactment of the new Court Rules dealing with electronic discovery. PML North America v ACG Enterprises, U.S. Eastern District of Michigan, Case No. 05-CV-70404-DT.

- Obtained voluntarily dismissal on behalf of garage door manufacturer in product liability action after filing summary judgment motion
- Regional counsel representation of leading tire manufacturer in product liability/personal injury cases
- National counsel for defense of ABS and Rollover Protection System cases for several leading suppliers
- Member of a punitive damages trial team defending a manufacturer in a product liability class action brought on behalf of over 500,000 plaintiffs
